13 organizations awarded Fallon Health Community Impact Grants for 2022

$150,000 distributed for projects targeting food insecurity and health initiatives impacting older adults

Worcester, Mass., September 22, 2022— Fallon Health is pleased to announce the recipients of its Community Impact Grants for 2022. Thirteen community-based organizations from across Fallon’s service area have been awarded a total of $150,000 in grants to help fund innovative programs that focus on addressing food security and/or health initiatives for older adults. The grants range from $10,000 to $15,000.

“It has been an unprecedented year of need in the diverse communities we serve as indicated by the nearly 125 applications we received,” said Richard Burke, President & CEO of Fallon Health. “In response to the demand, we increased funding for Fallon’s Community Impact Grants program by $50,000. This allowed us to support additional community organizations who work tirelessly to care for our members and empower others in the community to live healthier lives.”

“The work we do to fight hunger is important to our mission, but we can’t do it alone,” said Paul Mina, President & CEO of the United Way of Tri-County, one of Fallon’s 2022 Community Impact Grant recipients. “We appreciate the generous support of community partners like Fallon Health. The Community Impact Grant they are awarding us will go a long way to support meal preparation operations for three of our food insecurity programs which have seen increased need in the last few years.”
